“Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages”
India has made significant strides in healthcare over the past two decades — increasing life expectancy, reducing maternal and child mortality, and eradicating diseases like polio. However, deep inequalities and gaps still persist. Millions remain vulnerable to preventable diseases, high out-of-pocket medical costs, and lack of awareness about mental health and nutrition.
From rural hamlets to urban slums, healthcare accessibility remains a major challenge. India spends only about 2.1% of its GDP on health, and although schemes like Ayushman Bharat and PM Jan Arogya Yojana are transformative, awareness, access, and implementation remain critical barriers.
At Navumeed Foundation, we approach SDG 3 as a rights-based issue, not a service. We believe health is not just the absence of disease — it is the presence of dignity, nutrition, mental stability, and access to care.
