“Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all”

India has the world’s largest youth population, yet access to quality education remains unequal and inconsistent. Despite near-universal enrolment at the primary level (close to 97%), learning outcomes are still alarmingly low — over 50% of Grade 5 students can’t read Grade 2-level text, according to ASER reports.

The pandemic further widened the gap, especially for girls, tribal children, and rural students without access to digital infrastructure. Challenges persist in teacher training, curriculum design, school infrastructure, and equity in higher education.

But education is not just about academics — it's about empowering people with critical thinking, life skills, and confidence to shape their own futures.

See in in action

At Navumeed, our approach to SDG 4 goes beyond just enrolment. We focus on learning quality, equity, and community involvement:

  • Running bridge courses for out-of-school children

  • Digital learning support for students in rural areas

  • Promoting gender-sensitive schooling and menstrual hygiene programs

  • Community libraries and reading clubs

  • Workshops for teachers on inclusive learning and 21st-century skills
